There are over 400 trees and 15 different types of plant and groundcover species that make up Nunawading's "Valley Heathy Forest" . This is a vegetation class scientifically classified by the Department of Sustainability & Environment as ENDANGERED. There are now only 300-400 Hectares of "Valley Heathy Forest" left in Victoria.
